What is it?

Carbon footprint is "the total set of greenhouse gas emissions caused directly and indirectly by an individual, organization, event or product" (Carbon Trust 2009).

"Reducing the amount of carbon you emit is one of the fastest, most effective ways to save your business money" (Carbon Trust 2009)

  • The implications of emitting large amounts of CO2 is that the impact of global warming increases. Rising sea levels, glacier retreat, Arctic shrinkage, extreme weather conditions and drastic economic impact – are all results of carbon emissions
  • By 2020 the government aims to reduce carbon emissions in large non energy intensive organisations by 1.2 millions tonnes of carbon by year.

How does edd:e help?

In order to reduce our carbon footprint, we need to reduce our energy consumption. By monitoring energy usage and identifying where it is going we are able to use energy more efficiently. The amount of CO2 and other harmful greenhouse gases emitted will in turn be reduced.
