How edd:e works
Customers are able to measure their energy consumption in many different ways:
- overall power
- by type of consumption e.g. lighting, air conditioning
- by location e.g. warehouse, first floor office, factory floor
- time of day, weekday, weekend
- Information detail available at individual circuit level.
How edd:e measures current and power
- A patented strip (EcoCPS) fits inside the electrical distribution board, placing ferrite cores and Hall Effect sensors around each of the ring main wires entering the distribution board
- A multi-functional device (EcoMFD) gathers the signals and transmits the data via a wireless network (EcoRepeater) to a remote hosting platform where it is stored
- The gathered data is aggregated together (EcoHUB) and sent at pre-determined intervals to the edd:e internet hosting platform (SERVER) via ADSL
- Customers are able to browse all of the gathered data online and/or have it displayed locally through a display unit.
